Sports Bar

There's a 16 year old Australian girl who is about to set out on an around the world, nonstop, trip by herself.  She would be the youngest to ever do it if she makes it.  She will be in a 34 ft. boat on a 23,000 mile ocean voyage.   That ocean can be quite dangerous at times.  Hope she has the experience to handle it.  God's speed young lady.  Her name is Jessica Watson.

I don't know about you all, but to me it seems that there are more athletes getting hurt today than I can ever remember. By today, I mean in the last half dozen years or so.
What can cause so many hamstrings, elbows, shoulders, knees, hips, groins, necks, ankles, backs, and whatever else there is to get hurt to go bad as often as they do now.
Is it lack of conditioning, or over conditioning?  Maybe there have been too many supplements obsorbed by these athletes. 
It just seems crazy that every day there is another baseball player being put on the disabled list.  I enjoy playing fantasy baseball and I think it's because of this that I have noticed what seems like a trend.  what do you think?

I'm nowhere near a soccer fan, but I've got to say "Well Done!" to team USA with their 2-0 upset win over Spain. Way to go guys!

I've been a Red Sox fan since 1975.  I was in the army and stationed at Fort Devens, MA.  I got a chance to go to several games at Fenway, including the first game of the '75 World Series.  So I've followed the Sox for many years now and part of that is following the comings and goings of the players.  I have my favorites, like Freddy Lynn, Dewey Evans, Yaz, Fisk, and many more.  Now that John Smoltz is about to make his first start for Boston, I look forward to the second half of this season.  I wish Smoltz the best, he is a very class act, really old school in his attitude and work ethic.  Hopefully he will stay healthy and add to the lore of the Red Sox.
